Haelixa's capital injection from ZSIG is expected to support the expansion of its global operations, allowing the company to further develop and implement its traceability solutions on a broader scale.

Haelixa's ultimate aim is to be the standard in physical traceability globally. Its technology revolves around engineered DNA markers that can withstand all processing and treatment procedures during the materials' journey through the supply chain.

The solution is said to empower textile and fashion companies to make more responsible choices by ensuring the original marked materials are present throughout the production process.

By conducting DNA tests on products as they progress through the value chain, Haelixa validates the presence of the DNA markers, thereby enhancing traceability.

This verification process aids brands in substantiating their claims and provides them with valuable data for calculating their environmental and social impact.

"We are profoundly grateful for the generous support ZSIG provides and their exclusive network. As an association with a rich history in textiles, ZSIG has a track record in selecting future-proof solutions, and this contribution reaffirms our shared commitment to innovation," said Gediminas Mikutis, Haelixa's co-founder and chairman of the board.

ZSIG is described as having deep roots in Zürich's silk industry and consistently champions high-quality projects relevant to the textile industry. It is also said to be one of Switzerland's oldest trade groups.

ZSIG's board expressed pride in becoming an investor in Haelixa's mission to leverage DNA markers for comprehensive supply chain transparency.

The board hopes the impact of this technology will provide a traceable fingerprint for all textile industry stakeholders.

In June social enterprise CottonConnect and Haelixa announced they were joining forces to deliver digital and physical cotton traceability throughout the supply chain.
