Ventile explained that its Eco range, launched in 2020, comprises fabrics crafted from recycled GRS-certified pre-consumer waste, fabrics made from organic cotton, or blended lines that include lyocell and hemp.
Ventile noted that sales for its Eco textile range hit a record 67% of total sales in the 2023. After combining sales figures across all territories and markets, the company announced this represented its "highest-ever" sales share for the Eco range.
The company believes customers and brands are looking to source sustainable alternatives, favouring manufacturers that can produce fabrics with increased ecological credentials.
According to the company's sales data, the appetite for mid-weight cotton fabric, 200 - 230 g/m2, continues in the textile industry, dominating orders at 75%.
Ventile brand director, Daniel Odermatt, says Ventile is a part of the slow fashion movement that is championing sustainable textiles solutions: "Over the years, we have curated a range of fabrics that allows designers to make more sustainable textile choices for their collections and the recently published figures show how this has built over time. Ventile will continue to champion sustainable alternatives for brands and look to provide the latest in fabric technology so that designers can make informed decisions when developing their pieces."
The company shared that this partnership will address the issue of the supply of "extra-long-staple" organic cotton by investing in farmers as they convert to organic and biodynamic regenerative farming methods, providing a positive impact on the environment.
