Sourcery invites denim mills to join provisional partnership programme

Global sourcing solution firm Sourcery announced the expansion of its Provisional Partnership Programme by inviting denim mills, manufacturers and verticals across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Türkiye, and Italy to “test-drive” as Provisional Direct-to-Grower Manufacturer Partners.

The Direct-to-Grower approach empowers Provisional Partners to engage with Sourcery's platform, procuring cotton fibre directly from growers and subsequently selling denim yarn and fabric to other Direct-to-Grower Partners.

Moreover, these selected mills will be among the first to explore the opportunity of participating in Sourcery’s upcoming stock option subscription programme, an initiative poised to democratise ownership within the sector and foster a collaborative vision for the future of trade.

Initiated to stimulate demand downstream in the cotton value chain, the Provisional Partnership Programme is said to have already yielded positive outcomes in India and Pakistan.

Despite encountering lower-than-usual fibre demand, these Provisional Manufacturer Partners remain steadfast in their commitment to sourcing from Sourcery Grower Partners. This dedication is fueled by the transparency, traceability, and trust embedded within the Sourcery Partner network.

Participating in the programme equips Provisional Partners with immediate access to Sourcery’s suite of Direct-to-Grower Solutions, facilitating transparent, fair, and efficient procurement and sales processes.

Notably, Sourcery refrains from charging commission fees on fibre, yarn, or fabric transactions, translating into significant cost savings for partners compared to traditional approaches.

Furthermore, this enables partners to redirect resources towards advancing commercial and environmental excellence within their operations while supporting the progress of other Grower and Manufacturer Partners.

“The denim industry is often the first to adopt new fibres, processes, and technology than other textile categories who tend to be less forward thinking and responsive,” said Crispin Argento, global managing director of Sourcery.

“By specifically inviting the denim community to join not just as future members, but to also take ownership in Sourcery is very much a part of our approach to transforming the ‘impact paradigm’ whereby growers, traders, mills, and brands can better collaborate, define, and now own the future of sustainable cotton and transparent trade.”
