Ahead of its trade show on 14-16 July, Source Fashion is hosting an exclusive webinar on 13 June called: "Maximising Benefits from the Developing Countries Trading Scheme," with Sabiha Ahmed and Jasmine Dirie, policy advisors at the FCDO to discuss the scheme's objectives and benefits.

The event promises to provide valuable insights into the latest legislation, help businesses leverage opportunities, and outline how the scheme can support economic growth in developing countries while benefiting UK businesses.

The DCTS seeks to help countries diversify and increase their exports, and provide financial incentives for UK businesses to source products from these areas.

Dirie, one of the speakers, emphasised the scheme's potential, stating: “The scheme covers 65 countries that collectively export over £23bn of goods to the UK each year and cuts tariffs on thousands of products allowing improved market access to fast-growing emerging economies.

“The scheme also supports UK businesses to build supply chain resilience by diversifying sourcing and benefiting from reduced tariff costs on key imports, so this webinar is definitely one to join.”

Last Thursday (6 June) Source Fashion announced the formation of an Advisory Board featuring "dynamic thought leaders and experts" dedicated to responsible and ethical fashion, to help guide the future direction of the show and ensure it continues to deliver cutting-edge content across the whole fashion supply chain.

Late last month it also said the show was welcoming its first Malaysian and Nigerian apparel manufacturers to its already 30-strong country line-up, in its July edition at Olympia London.
