Soorty Enterprises (Soorty) has shared its plan for achieving its goal, which includes significant reductions to its Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions
Soorty Enterprises director Asad Soorty said these commitments reflect the company's "unwavering dedication to a sustainable future".
Soorty's SBTi targets for reaching its net zero goals
- Soorty has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions by 54.60% by 2033 from a 2021 base year
- Soorty has committed to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel, and employee commuting by 54.60% within the same timeframe
- Soorty has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1, 2 & 3 GHG emissions by 90.00% by 2050 from a 2021 base year.
Soorty said: "We believe that by setting these ambitious targets we are not only contributing to global climate goals but also driving innovation and efficiency within our operations and supply chain. Our journey towards net zero is a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic growth."
Soorty group head of corporate communications and CSR Mobeen Chughtai added: "Achieving these targets is not something a business can do in isolation. We must collaborate with government bodies, the international community, NGOs, universities, scientists, and the entire supply chain. We are setting these ambitious targets for ourselves and are eager to partner with all stakeholders to make them a reality."
The company explained its SBTi validation confirms its proactive approach to mitigating climate impact and aligns with global efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Soorty claims the company's comprehensive approach spans the entire supply chain from responsible material sourcing to energy-efficient manufacturing. It also employs advanced technologies and practices to minimise waste, reduce water usage and enhance energy efficiency.
Moreover, the company actively engages with its supply chain partners and stakeholders, working towards shared goals, which drives innovation while promoting sustainable production.
In March Soorty launched a regenerative agriculture farming initiative aimed at boosting sustainability practices in the industry.
