Held between 7 and 9 August 2024 at the Istanbul Expo Centre, IFCO aimed to underline its importance as a hub for the international fashion industry.
The number of international visitors at IFCO 2024 increased 13.9% compared to 2023’s edition, making up 35% of attendees. The most represented regions included Asia with 31.3% of international attendees.
The latest IFCO event also included a B2B Meeting with 100 visitor groups from 20 countries taking part in meetings. Most participants came from the US, as well as representatives from the United Aran Emirates and India.
During the opening ceremony industry leaders and ministers reaffirmed their commitment to boosting garment exports despite ongoing global challenges.
Istanbul Moda Academy hosted this year’s IFCO Trend Area, under the theme ‘ascension’. The event also included collections from more than 20 established and newer designers at its ‘The Core’ exhibition.
Arzu Kaprol, one of the designers exhibiting at The Core, commented: “IFCO is a very important platform for us. The trade fair shows the concentrated power of Turkish design and offers innovations at all levels of textile and fashion production. International customers in particular honour these developments. The newly established business relationships especially with buyers from the US and Russia are remarkable. The aim of the trade fair is to bring the international industry together in one place at one time. We have established intensive contacts here."
İHKİB vice president Mustafa Paşahan added: "The apparel industry has been working towards a trade fair like IFCO for a long time. We have succeeded in realising the seemingly impossible by bringing together all the key players in our industry. Today, we are proud to have created a brand like IFCO. With its rapid success, IFCO is constantly evolving and improving its quality with each new issue. It is gaining a higher place in the global fashion calendar every day. Istanbul, the fashion capital of Türkiye, is the perfect place to unite fashion, design, trends, trade and collaborations.”
The next IFCO event will take place in Istanbul from 5-8 February 2025. Texhibition Istanbul will take place on 11-13 September 2024.
