The Cady Egypt factory which has over 30 industrial and service facilities with investments of $1.6bn, will use smart manufacturing methods to produce high-quality and eco-friendly fabrics and clothing.

The facility will specialise in the production of premium functional green and environmentally friendly textile fabric, along with intelligent manufacturing of seamless garments using smart manufacturing techniques. The inauguration took place within the 6 km expansion phase of the TEDA-Egypt industrial developer located in the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone.

Chairman of SCZONE, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, affirmed the institution's commitment to fostering diverse projects, particularly in partnership with Chinese investments. He noted that SCZONE provides the necessary infrastructure, legislative frameworks, and trade agreements to facilitate market access for the textile sector.

Comprising of 6 buildings, the Cady Egypt project will unfold in three phases. The inaugural phase, set to commence in 2023 and conclude before the close of 2024, will pave the way for the production capacity of 50 thousand tons of environmentally friendly fabrics and textiles.

Additionally, the factory will produce 8 million units of seamless clothing annually. Foreseen as a substantial investment, the project commands $60m, projecting an estimated sales volume of $150m.

Spanning an expansive area of 145.5 thousand square meters, the Cady Egypt factory stands as the largest establishment within the ambit of TEDA-Egypt.

On this occasion, Mr. Lai Siqing, vice chairman of TEDA China – Africa said: “I want to thank SCZONE for creating a favourable work environment and supporting Chinese companies, in coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the industrial developer TEDA Egypt’s existence and the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative.”

The CEO of Zhejiang Cady Industrial Company, Mr. Shi Yi added: “The company specialises in the manufacture of polyester fabrics, dyeing, and printing works for polyester textiles. The company’s total production capacity is about 10 million pieces annually.

“In light of the existence of the Belt and Road Initiative, our decision was that Egypt would be the first station for our foreign investments. The company aims to work on high-end environmentally friendly fabrics.”

In January, Turkish textile group Yeşim announced a solar energy investment at its Jade Textile facility in Ismalia, Egypt, which it said aims to meet 30% of the current electrical energy needs of the facility.
