The Reconomy Re-use division encompasses Advanced Supply Chain and ReBound, which provide advanced platforms and circular logistics through technology-driven supply chain, logistics, and fulfilment solutions.

Zahid comes to the CEO role with a decade of experience at Amazon, where she held various leadership positions within its fashion, grocery, and marketplace divisions, culminating in her role overseeing the European fashion accessories category.

Her track record in spearheading strategic growth and operational improvements, coupled with her commitment to creating inclusive work environments is said to position her well for leading Reconomy's Re-use division.

Reconomy chief executive Guy Wakeley said: “Reconomy’s Re-use loop is one of our key divisions and counts many of the most successful, fast-growing retailers and ecommerce brands as customers.

“We’re delighted to welcome Rakhshan who brings an impressive track record and considerable experience of significantly scaling retail businesses, which will prove invaluable as we embark on the next phase of growth for Re-use.”

Zahid takes over from Claire Webb, who will remain with the company during this transition period as executive chair.

Webb previously served as CEO and managing director of Advanced Supply Chain for five years, overseeing the company's acquisition by Reconomy in 2021.

Under her leadership, the organisation achieved significant milestones in operational integration and market expansion.

Zahid said: “Advanced Supply Chain and ReBound have excellent teams and ambitious plans. It’s an extremely exciting time to be part of Reconomy and the sectors we support, and I look forward to working with the teams to build upon the great work already done to deliver the benefits of our combined strengths and unmatched offer. We are committed to providing exceptional service and innovative supply chain tech solutions to our long held and newly won customers, as well as expanding our client base in the UK, Europe and the US.”

The Re-use division has actively engaged with other branches within Reconomy to develop a textile Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) solution aimed at assisting brands and retailers in adhering to new international regulations.

Following her transition, Webb intends to explore non-executive board roles.

Webb added: “I’ve loved being part of Advanced Supply Chain’s and the Re-use loop’s growth journey. We have built a fantastic team and developed market-leading technology. Rakhshan is the perfect appointment to continue to develop this further – I look forward to working with her on this transition and wish her every success in her new role.”

Jelle Schoenmaker will continue his role as managing director of ReBound, while Ben Balfour remains at the helm of Advanced Supply Chain as managing director.

In September last year, Reconomy launched its Environment Action Plan to advance climate and nature goals, committing to net-zero carbon targets and enhancing biodiversity through local and global initiatives
