The cornerstone of the Pangaia ReWear programme is the use of Digital IDs, driven by EON's advanced technology.
Pangaia and EON first joined forces in 2021 to develop Digital IDs, establishing a connection between individual Pangaia products and their digital counterparts stored in the cloud. These Digital IDs enable customers to scan their items and access product details and environmental impact information, facilitating circular services.
The Digital IDs encompass all the necessary product information, including size, colour, material, and provenance, streamlining the resale process on ReWear. This system allows sellers of preloved Pangaia items to easily list their products on the ReWear peer-to-peer marketplace.
To list their products, Pangaia customers can scan the QR code found on the item's care label. The integrated technologies from Archive and EON will then automatically populate all the required information for listing the item on ReWear. In cases where a product lacks an EON Digital ID, sellers can still effortlessly list it on the platform using Archive's seamless listing process.
Additionally, these Digital IDs offer buyers a straightforward means of verifying the authenticity of preowned items purchased through the ReWear platform.
“Pangaia ReWear is more than just a resale platform. It is the first step towards our ultimate goal - the creation of a future where we are able to close the loop by creating a truly circular ecosystem for our apparel, powered by the industry’s leading technology companies - Archive and EON,” said the Pangaia Collective.
Emily Gittins, CEO, and co-founder of Archive said: "Pangaia is a pioneer in conscious clothing creation and this collaboration marks an exciting innovation in re-commerce, as it’s the first time EON Digital IDs are being leveraged for a branded peer-to-peer resale program.”
Natasha Franck, founder, and CEO of EON expressed her satisfaction with the partnership with Pangaia and added: “Through our technology integration with Archive, we can bring automation to the customer resale experience and provide buyers with more confidence around the authenticity of their products. This collaboration is another major step forward in driving transparency and circularity for Pangaia and the fashion industry at large.”
The ReWear platform will initially debut in the UK, with plans to expand its presence to additional global markets.
