Recycled cotton yarn company, Omax Cotspin has joined Sourcery's Direct-to-Grower Programme to identify and address material and performance risks, as well as cost inefficiencies in its supply chain.

Through collaborative engagement, the Direct-to-Grower Programme focuses on translating business objectives into tangible commercial advantages and meaningful sustainable impacts on a larger scale. This is achieved by prioritising enhanced visibility, process refinement, and efficiency improvement.

Jayesh H. Patel, the managing director of Omax Cotspin hopes this partnership will help the company’s goal to incentivise farmers for their hard work and added: "We aim to bring visibility and connectivity downstream and upstream with commercial excellence and traceability of any cotton fibre, i.e., Organic, Regenerative and Better Cotton programmes.”

The overarching objective is to integrate Omax's farm programme into the Direct-to-Grower Programme, enabling the supply of fully traceable and top-quality cotton yarn from India to other partners and value chain participants who share Sourcery's vision of positive trade transformation.

By participating in this programme, Omax will work towards establishing a traceability process spanning from the initial cotton fibre to the final finished goods.

Imran Asghar, managing director of South Asia and co-founder of Sourcery, expressed enthusiasm about Omax's involvement, stating: " With Omax’s support, we will be able to commercialise sustainability and bring much-needed trust among supply chain stakeholders, as we believe trust is a prerequisite for transparency and traceability.”

Omax's role as a primary cotton yarn supplier within the Direct-to-Grower Programme is expected to extend to other brands and manufacturers in India and worldwide.

This extension aims to establish direct sourcing relationships for cotton yarn, facilitating complete traceability and transparency both upstream and downstream in the supply chain. A partnership has already been forged between Omax and German sustainability leader, Armedangels, under the Direct-to-Grower Programme, to achieve transparency across Armedangels' supply chain.
