This achievement makes Interloop the only company in the global textile industry to earn this certification, underscoring its commitment to water sustainability and conservation.

The AWS Standard is an internationally recognised framework that guides facilities and other water-using sites in understanding water use, impacts, and sustainable watershed management.

By implementing this standard, Interloop aims to reduce its water footprint and tackle shared water challenges through initiatives such as maintaining sustainable water balances, ensuring good water governance, and protecting key water-related areas.

Interloop’s water stewardship initiatives include:

  • Nanobubble technology reduces water use by 90%, chemicals by 71%, and energy consumption by 50%,
  • The company's denim UP system uses 70% less water than traditional washing processes,
  • Reuse of water from chemical auto-dosing saves 8000 litres/day,
  • Water recirculation in spray booths conserves 4800 litres/day,
  • WASH Programme: Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene at Rosa Girls School,
  • Drinking Water Plant for the community at Social Security Hospital.

“Receiving the AWS certification shows our commitment to protecting the natural resources we rely on”, said chief marketing officer, Faryal Sadiq. “We’re proud of our team's work and determined to operate responsibly in the communities we work and live.”

Muhammad Fauz ul Azeem, head of sustainability & chemical management at Interloop, added: "We’re continuously improving our water efficiency across facilities and managing waste properly. Our Effluent Treatment Plants operate 24/7 to meet ZDHC standards."

In March, Interloop began working with textile waste management firm Reverse Resources and Pakistan’s National Textile University (NTU) to establish a structured framework for managing textile waste.
