Happy Socks welcomes new CEO for next phase of growth

Swedish socks brand Happy Socks has announced the appointment of Alexander Meyer, from Canadian retailer The Bay as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Taking over the helm as Happy Socks CEO, Meyer will be tasked with continuing the brand's growth and driving its overall strategic vision.

Meyer’s most recent position was CEO at Canada's omniretailer The Bay, which is also described as North America's oldest brand. He has been a chief marketing officer (CMO) across many international brands.

Meyer said: "I am thrilled and honoured to be joining Happy Socks as its new CEO.

"This iconic brand has always been at the forefront of fashion innovation, and I am excited to lead the talented team as we continue to spread happiness, creativity, and freedom of self-expression to every corner of the world."

Happy Socks hopes to tap into Meyer's expertise in brand, digital and international market execution.

The brand explains he has the ability to forge strong connections between brands and consumers, driving innovation and cultivating sustainable brand growth. For this reason the company believes Meyer is poised to steer Happy Socks into its next phase of growth.

Happy Socks chairman of the board Christian Beck expressed a warm welcome to Meyer. He stated: "His impressive track record in the consumer and fashion industries makes him an ideal fit for Happy Socks. I am really looking forward to working with him and am confident his experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue our growth journey."

In July, global Sock Producer Thai Sock Co. Ltd. (Thai Sock) adopted a new software solution in a bid to meet the growing demand for smaller and more diverse order assortments.

US Merino wool sock manufacturer, Smartwool announced the launch of its first pair of circular socks in April.
