Rajiv Sharma is succeeding current Archroma CEO Mark Garrett starting 1 October 2024, who will transition to the company’s Board of Directors. Sharma will take on key responsibilities for Archroma’s Textile Effects business.

Archroma highlighted that Sharma comes to Archroma following a 14-year tenure with Coats, where he was the Group's chief executive for the last eight years. During his tenure, Sharma reportedly drove profitable growth while fostering a company culture based on customer centricity, innovation, digitalisation and sustainability.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Sharma said: "I feel very privileged to be given the opportunity to lead this dynamic business at a pivotal time of transformation. We have an incredible opportunity to support the textile and apparel industry on a sustainability journey that will redefine what’s possible and touch the lives of people all around world."

Miguel Kohlmann, chairman of the Board of Directors of Archroma, thanked Garrett for his strategic leadership and for enhancing the company’s growth trajectory.

Kohlmann stated: "Mark brings a great deal of expertise and experience to the Board and joins us in welcoming Rajiv Sharma. In Rajiv, we have an inspiring global leader with proven experience in delivering long-term growth."

Garrett echoed the same sentiments and added that Sharma is a "proven visionary," noting his track record of generating global growth through sustainability, innovation and sound financial management.

In addition, Archroma announced that its Packaging Technologies business will be established as a focused business activity from 1 October 2024, to increase its focus on the packaging business and accelerate its development.

Its CEO Sameer Singla is expected to continue leading the business while reporting directly to the Archroma Board of Directors.

Archroma further emphasised that Packaging Technologies has also delivered substantial growth with more dedicated leadership over the past two years and the organisational changes will help both Textile Effects and Packaging Technologies continue to focus on best serving their respective customers and markets.

Recently, Archroma partnered with Germany's Monforts and machinery manufacturer BW Converting to support dyeing and finishing manufacturers in their development projects to boost the quality and performance of finished products.
