The Bombay Exhibition Centre will serve as the venue for the 10th edition of Techtextil India 2025 from 19 to 21 November, with the Dornbirn GFC Asia set to take place on 18 November.

The convergence of Dornbirn GFC and Techtextil India Symposium in 2025 is key to position India as one of the global leaders in technical textile innovation.

This partnership is poised to provide a platform for professionals across the technical textiles value chain to delve into the latest developments in fibre technology, sustainable materials, and avant-garde applications.

Under the theme "Shaping the Future: Sustainable Growth in Fiber Solutions and Innovations," Dornbirn GFC Asia will focus on key advances in spinning technology and the textile industry.

The conference will cover the entire production process, from man-made fibres and non-wovens to emerging applications and maintenance solutions, providing valuable insights and expanding networking opportunities.

Messe Frankfurt Asia executive director and board member Raj Manek said: "The technical textiles industry is at a transformative juncture in India. At this point of time, the partnership of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India with Austrian Fibers Institute to organise Dornbirn GFC along with Techtextil India 2025 will amplify the benefits of networking and knowledge sharing for the industry professionals. A collaboration of this stature for technical textiles will set a new benchmark for the industry segment."

The 2025 edition of Techtextil India already has all exhibition slots fully booked. Prominent global brands have committed to exhibit their latest innovations, including Reliance Industries, Aditya Birla Yarns, JB Ecotex, Ganesha Ecosphere, and Perlon Group.

In addition, the display will include machinery manufacturers, fibre and yarn, textile mill innovations, non-wovens, functional textiles, high-performance apparel, and special pavilions like Meditex, highlighting medical textile advancements.

The Indian government aims to boost the technical textile market to $40bn by 2030, with exports targeted at $10bn.

Initiatives such as the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) and Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) are propelling industry growth. The government's focus on 156 R&D projects under NTTM and incentives for foreign direct investments (FDIs) are testament to its commitment to this sector's expansion.

The growing focus on sustainability in textiles is driving new opportunities for reuse, repair, and recycling. To support this shift, the Indian government and technical textile education programmes are expanding, covering areas like medical textiles, geotextiles, and geosynthetics.

These sectors, along with applications in sportswear, automotive, construction, and environmental sustainability, are fuelling the demand for high-performance materials.
