Re-Matters, established in 2023, leverages over 40 years of experience from its parent company, Ereks Blue Matters, to provide engineering and consultancy services across the textile supply chain. Its mission is to help companies minimise their environmental impact through strategies that prioritise reduction, reuse, recycling, and regeneration.
"We are excited to partner with COLOURizd, whose innovative dyeing technology aligns perfectly with our mission to promote a circular textile economy," said Romain Narcy, CEO of Re-Matters. "With the current state of the world, taking action towards sustainability is not just an option, it's a necessity."
ColouRizd’s QuantumCOLOUR technology enables the dyeing of recycled materials without requiring bleaching or colour removal. The process not only preserves fibre integrity but also enhances yarn strength while using just 1 litre of water per kilogram of yarn, with zero wastewater produced.
Jennifer Thompson, CEO of ColouRizd added: "By integrating ColouRizd’s technology with Re-Matters' focus on circular value streams, we can offer textile manufacturers a sustainable solution that reduces environmental impact and enhances the performance and quality of their products."
Both companies will showcase their solutions at the upcoming Textile Exchange Conference in Pasadena, California, from 28-31 October 2024, where they will discuss their efforts to drive sustainable change in the textile industry.
At the April edition of the Kingpins Show in Amsterdam, US denim specialist Cone Denim debuted its alternative ColouRizd sustainable colour technology which claimed to eliminate the need for dye baths and lengthy wet processing.
