Bestseller, which has been a signatory of the International Accord since its inception, has joined 56 other fashion brands and retailers to renew the legally binding agreement that promotes and supports the development of safer workplaces in the textile and garment industry in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Bestseller alongside other global brands and trade union signatories recently concluded negotiations that resulted in a renewed framework agreement.

Bestseller's head of responsible sourcing and a member of the International Accord's steering committee Felicity Tapsell encouraged all garment and textile companies to sign this agreement and join the collective goal of a safe and sustainable textile and garment industry.

The Danish retailer added that it believes a collaborative, multistakeholder approach, tailored to the specific situation of individual countries is the best approach to securing the health and safety for all textile workers.

In December Bestseller said it plans to advance its Dutch Logistics Centre West (LCW) with the deployment of automation technology from KNAPP, a leading supplier of automation solutions, to expand its supply chain in Europe and support its growth.

It has also teamed up with Swedish fashion retailer H&M Group to develop an offshore wind energy project in Bangladesh to boost the sector’s transition to renewable energy.
