The blanket shirt, which is one of Outerknown's most popular items, is crafted from organic cotton and is said to exemplify the brand's dedication to fair labour practices and environmental protection.

Aware’s technology allows the entire production process of the shirt to be fully traceable and helps customers understand every step from raw material to the finished product. The traceable version of the shirt is now available online and in Outerknown’s eight US retail stores.

"We're thrilled to partner with Aware to bring our vision of traceability to life," said Dylan Slater, Outerknown's CEO. "With Aware’s technology, we can provide our customers with complete transparency into the journey of the garment, empowering them to make informed choices that align with their values."

Outerknown plans to expand the use of Aware technology to future collections, furthering its commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainable practices.

Outerknown emphasises responsible manufacturing practices across its operations. The company reports using preferred fibres and supporting farmers in implementing regenerative organic certified practices.

The collaboration between Aware and Outerknown is described by both companies as highlighting the role of technology in driving sustainability and transparency in the fashion industry.

At the beginning of this year (16 January), Aware secured a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE) from Singapore-based impact investor, Presstar Capital to propel the platform’s expansion in Asia’s sustainable textile production industry.
