Active Apparel Group scores 100% living wage compliance for China workforce

The audit, based on Bureau Veritas' Living Wage report evaluated the living wage compliance of sampled employees at Active Apparel Group’s Ningbo Longson Garments Co., Ltd.

"AAG has employees around the globe, and it is our mission to ensure each and every one of them is earning a living wage," said Paul McCloskey, founder and president of AAG.

He added: "We have a responsibility to the people who directly impact our success, and we're very proud of our achievement."

Active Apparel Group claims that only 28% of brands openly share their approach to achieving living wages for supply chain workers.

It says it continually invests in third-party audits, including a Gold level WRAP audit and Sedex audit.

A recent study by The Industry We Want indicates a 48.5% average percentage gap between minimum wages and the average living wage estimate in 28 key garment-producing countries, marking a 3.5% increase over 2022 numbers.

AAG says its commitment to transparency and ethical practices will be on display at the ISPO event in Munich, Germany from 28-30 November.

In 2022 Bureau Veritas acquired AMSfashion, an expert in sustainability, quality and conformity services for the fashion industry, including organic/vegan content verification and durability testing.

Bureau Veritas said at the time of the acquisition that AMSfashion would strengthen its presence in Iberia, a key hub for expanding its Consumer Products Services business and would support its continuing growth in nearshoring from South Europe and Africa.
