Following the 2024 US Presidential election, the USFIA conference will provide critical insights into what the fashion industry can expect under the incoming administration. With President-elect Donald Trump planning a more aggressive trade agenda, including potential executive actions on tariffs, the industry is eager to understand how these shifts will impact trade and customs policies.

According to media company Politico, the Trump transition team is preparing “an aggressive trade agenda for the first 100 days, which will likely include some executive action on tariffs.”

In addition to trade policy discussions, the event will feature experts from across the fashion ecosystem, focusing on areas such as compliance, logistics, sourcing, corporate social responsibility, and government relations. It will also provide an opportunity for attendees to stay informed on the latest regulatory changes and market trends.

The conference, which will be held at the FIT Baker School of Business and Technology in New York City, will include remarks from key government officials, including US International Trade Administration textiles, consumer goods, materials, critical minerals and metals deputy assistant secretary Tyler Beckelman; US Department of Homeland Security trade and economic competitiveness deputy assistant secretary Tasha Reid Hippolyte; US Customs and Border Protection office of trade forced labour division director Brian Hoxie and US Customs and Border Protection office of trade relations executive director Felicia Pullam.

Industry experts including David Spooner from Barnes & Thornburg; Canopy founder and executive director Nicole Rycroft; PwC US retail leader Kelly Pedersen; Responsible Sourcing Network founder and CEO Patricia Jurewicz and others.
