Tukatech and EcoShot by Metail, which specialises in the visualisation of clothing on digital models, hope to use their combined 3D technology to streamline the fashion product development process.
Tukatech claims its technology software TUKA3D has reduced the need for physical fit and look samples, however with physical samples still being used for sales and photography it has integrated EcoShot by Metail with the aim of delivering results that rival traditional and costly photoshoots.
TUKAweb president Geoff Taylor comments: “This collaboration has tremendous potential to help companies eliminate the need for any physical samples and photography and to produce only the products that have already sold thereby reducing costs, inventory, and waste.”
As part of the partnership TUKA3D users will gain immediate access to a library of over 40 photorealistic digital models.
These models include various genders, ages, measurements, and poses, including both real-life and AI-generated variations. Additionally, users will have the option to leverage generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create bespoke fashion models tailored to their specific needs from their TUKA3D fit models.
Metail’s new business director Vikesh Shah emphasises the importance of realism and convenience in showcasing 3D designs on models and highlights how the recent introduction of AI-generated models makes the process more flexible and convenient for users of apparel 3D CAD software.

By GlobalDataTaylor suggests the integration of generative AI sets TUKA3D apart from other applications as it allows fashion companies to use the same 3D avatars for fit verification, design presentations, and e-commerce product sales, all without the necessity of physical samples.
“Once a product is approved or sold, Tukatech is established as a global leader offering all the technology for fashion companies to manufacture the product, rather than just handing it off,” Taylor explains.
