The partnership will present advancements in specialty fabrics, yarns, sportswear, high-performance textiles, and eco-friendly materials.

In India, the rising awareness of health and preference for superior athletic apparel have fuelled the demand for innovative textiles that offer moisture management, compression, breathability, and eco-friendly options.

The collaboration is in step with India’s push for self-sufficiency in textile production and aligns with the government’s emphasis on technical textile innovation and the growth of local manufacturing.

Messe Frankfurt Asia executive director and board member Raj Manek said: “With our global Texpertise network and established expertise in trade fairs, Techtextil India has always served as a launchpad for emerging textile innovations.

“‘Sporttech Pavilion’ is a natural extension of this vision offering a focused space for sports and performance textiles, an industry that is witnessing phenomenal growth worldwide. This will be beneficial to the manufacturers as well as to the buyers giving them direct access to the latest technologies that will shape the next generation of sports and fitness apparel.”

The Indian sportswear market is projected to grow from $10.2m in 2024 to $16.6m by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.1% from 2025 to 2033 according to IMARC Group.

The global sportswear market, valued at $206.64bn in 2024, is expected to reach $350.45bn by 2032.

The Sporttech Pavilion will facilitate collaborations between material innovators, sportswear brands, and textile producers with sourcing authorities from around the world.

Capitalising on Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India’s global network and expertise, the pavilion aims to support Indian brands in reaching international markets and draw advanced global sports textile solutions.

Furthermore, Techtextil India 2025 will facilitate in-depth business interactions and enable exhibitors to engage with the growing market, with a special emphasis on medical textiles through MEDITEX’s second edition, in partnership with the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA).

Techtextil India 2025 is set to draw a diverse crowd, from sportswear retailers to product developers, fitness enthusiasts, designers, R&D experts, textile institutions, sourcing professionals, and others seeking innovative breakthroughs in the field.

It is scheduled to take place at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, Mumbai from 19 to 21 November 2025.

In January this year, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India joined forces with the Austrian Fibers Institute to host the Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) Asia edition at the Techtextil India Symposium in 2025.
