Sae-A Trading has hired six graduates from the first cohort of 47 students graduating from the school in Haiti following a ‘rigorous selection process’ that included a three-month internship.
The new employees will be placed in departments including quality assurance, production planning, operations, raw materials, general affairs and compliance.

The S&H School initially opened as a kindergarten and elementary school before expanding to offer middle and high school education as well. Students are taught in Creole, English, French and Spanish, helping to prepare them for global opportunities.
In 2017, Sae-A Trading opened a second school in the country, where it employed more than 10,000 people.
Jessica Saintil, who will be joining Sae-A Trading’s operations department, said: “During my internship, I learned to check the seven points of the containers and assist customs officers in the process of opening containers. Sae-A Trading is the most coveted employer in Haiti, and I am committed to contributing to its growth and success.”
Lentz Starly Atilus, who will join Sae-A Trading’s compliance team, commented: “During my internship, I learned several valuable skills and gained significant insights into regulatory frameworks and the importance of adherence to both internal and external regulations. This experience has deepened my appreciation for compliance in maintaining a company’s integrity and ethical standards. In the future, I aim to play a strategic role within the company, contributing to its growth and sustainability through strong leadership in compliance.”

S&H School offers free tuition, meals and educational supplies, helping to remove barriers to education for children in Haiti. The school was launched as part of Sae-A Trading’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, aimed at investing in the future of Haiti through education.
Sae-A Trading plans to expand its internship programme to include more students and facilitate transitions from education to employment.
Since 2010, Haiti has been at the brunt of crises. It began with the earthquake that saw apparel output slump and things changed for the worse following the assassination of the country’s President, Jovenel Moïse.
