The Recovo, IVN Industria and Salsa Jeans initiative is said to be in response to the fashion industry’s shift towards sustainable practices and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda.
The goal is to maximise the use of leftover denim fabrics and prevent them from ending up in landfills while contributing to a circular denim economy.
Recovo’s platform, which enables brands to buy and sell excess materials from past collections, plays a pivotal role in optimising inventory efficiency and fostering circularity within the textile industry.
It provides an array of waste management solutions that facilitate the reuse, resale, and recycling of surplus textiles throughout their lifecycle, thereby assisting companies in saving costs and reducing their environmental footprint.
As part of the partnership Recovo will oversee the redistribution and repurposing of IVN Industria’s leftover textiles and will incorporate them into new projects once they are no longer needed for production.
The collaboration will enable IVN Industria to conserve valuable resources, supporting its goal of creating a positive impact on the textile industry.

By GlobalDataRecovo CEO and co-founder Mónica Rodríguez said: “With Recovo, companies like IVN Industria can easily and quickly sell their surplus and continuous fabrics. This pushes the sector to transition toward better sustainability standards and meet the goals set for 2030, which are vital for the future of the industry and will leave a positive legacy on a global scale. The key is to enjoy fashion while minimising environmental impact.”
IVN Industria focuses on three primary areas: laundry, dyeing, and special finishes. Leveraging advanced technology, the company provides comprehensive solutions that span from product research and development to testing, sampling, and large-scale production.
The company’s R&D and laboratory teams develop new techniques and processes and work closely with the laundry, dyeing, and special finishes departments to integrate technical expertise and innovation throughout the entire production cycle.
This approach benefits not only the Portuguese brand Salsa Jeans but also over 100 brands globally.
Salsa Jeans, since its founding, has remained dedicated to traceability and innovation.
IVN Industria executive director João Martins said: “We are proud to partner with Recovo in a joint effort to address one of the fashion industry’s most pressing challenges — textile waste.
“Through this partnership, we aim to repurpose unused fabrics and create innovative denim solutions, demonstrating that environmental stewardship and high-quality manufacturing can go hand in hand.”
