Pantone has released a new polyester swatch book featuring vibrant and versatile colour options that can be quickly and accurately reproduced for synthetic fibres.

Complementing its polyester standard colours, the new Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Polyester Swatch Book is designed specifically for colour management in polyester, poly-blends and synthetics – and is aimed at designers working in the athleisure, footwear, swimwear, sleepwear, home and fashion accessories markets.

It features 203 colours ranging from timeless neutrals to more saturated shades and eye-popping neons that can’t be reproduced in cotton with the same degree of clarity or intensity.

Creating a special system of colours using dyes specifically for polyester removes the guesswork and enhances product speed to market by enabling quick and accurate reproduction of these colours in polyester as well as other synthetic fibres, Pantone says.

“The story of the market today is one of material innovation, something which in turn is driving the market need for greater hue intensity and trend relevant colour beyond those formulated for natural fibres ,” says Laurie Pressman, vice-president at the Pantone Color Institute.

Pantone’s Polyester Standards and Swatch Book complements the existing Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors cotton colours, adding more highly saturated and intense colours.
