Norsel will launch the system at DTG Dhaka 2025 and Egypt Stitch & Tex in Cairo. Both the events will take place from 20-23 February 2025.

Norsel said the launch of COMPASS RT (Roll Tracking) and COMPASS GT (Garment Tracking) will allow manufacturers to bid farewell to errors associated with human intervention and manual processes, thereby reducing waste and significantly boosting production efficiency.

Introducing COMPASS: The Smart tracking revolution

COMPASS has been developed to help refine the manufacturing processes of textiles and garments. It is said to achieve this through real-time tracking capabilities, automation features, and insightful data analytics.

This technology is also designed to help elevate factories’ precision levels, diminish fabric wastage, and streamline operations from the initial knitting stage all the way through to final production. COMPASS promises a comprehensive digital overhaul for the industry.

The need for COMPASS arises as manufacturers grapple with outdated practices such as handwritten labels, misplaced fabric rolls, and subpar tracking systems. These methods are notorious for causing production bottlenecks, inflating operational expenses, and ushering in an era of errors.

According to Norsel, COMPASS addresses these inefficiencies directly by implementing an automated digital tracking system that integrates effortlessly with current workflows.

Some of the key features include:

  • Real-time updates abolish errors stemming from human involvement or manual tracking.
  • Precision in inventory management is now a reality.
  • Fabric waste reduction goes hand-in-hand with optimized production flow.
  • Misplacement of rolls becomes a thing of the past.
  • Manual labour is significantly reduced, saving both time and money.
