Thermal insulation specialist Thermore has developed an offshoot of its Ecodown range that offers a new creative dimension to thermal insulation.
The firm says its new Ecodown Fibers Marble is a “light, soft, puffy, warm and blow-in insulation” with a mix of both white and black fibres. The idea is that when used with lightweight and transparent outer fabrics, the new insulation can be seen – meaning no two garments will look the same thanks to the configuration of the white and black fibres.
For the last five years, the firm has worked to develop free fibre technology but realised there was “very little” to improve, technically. “There was only one thing that we could change with this product and it would make all the difference: the way it looks,” Thermore says.
“The progress in fabric technology now allows fabrics to be very resistant and so light that you can see through them. We felt the apparel world was ready for the next challenge: using insulation to give garments unique visual interest.
Thermore is also introducing Ecodown Fibers Black, which provides a 3D colour effect using light coloured fabrics.
