Meta Avatars Store was announced by Mark Zuckerberg with the Meta CEO explaining digital goods “will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy.”
The new virtual store is being launched on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger and will give users the opportunity to buy digital clothing for their avatars.
Digital outfits from Balenciaga, Parada and Thom Browne will be among the initial launch, according to Tech Crunch, though Meta has not received any pricing information for these metaverse-friendly digital outfits.
The Meta Avatars Store will start rolling out next week in the United States, Canada, Thailand and Mexico.
Recently, brands including Mango, American Eagle Outfitters and Benetton have announced moves in the metaverse.

And VNTANA announced a partnership with BeyondXR to allow the latter’s customers to create interactive 3D virtual showrooms instantly from existing design files.
This new integration allows brands to upload their existing 3D designs from programs like Browzwear, Clo, Keyshot, Modo and more to instantly create interactive 3D digital showrooms in ByondXR. There is no additional work needed as VNTANA’s patented algorithms automatically optimise and convert files to meet varying online and game engine standards, including those required for the metaverse.
