MIB’s multi-stakeholder board includes representatives from a wide range of industry groups, including philanthropic funders, civil society organisations, academics, think tanks, workers rights groups, industry associations and government organisations.
At its launch in 2019, MIB said that it aimed to facilitate growth in Bangladesh’s garment sector.
MIB provides accessible, verified census data about the apparel industry in Bangladesh. The new board will help shape the project’s strategic direction as it plans to increase its presence in Europe and expand its user base.
The full board includes

BRAC University’s joint director at its Centre for Entrepreneurship Choudhury says: “With the regulatory environment in Europe changing significantly over the next 18 months, tools like MIB will be critical in ensuring that brands and retailers are able to easily comply with reporting requirements and that they continue to view Bangladesh as a hub for responsible sourcing.
“That’s why we are delighted to announce the appointment of our multi-stakeholder board, which represents various voices and perspectives in the ready-made garment industry and will be critical as we look to expand the tool’s presence in Europe. Each of our members will bring incredibly valuable insights to our organisation and we are thrilled to have them on board.”
