Upscale British retailer Liberty London has appointed former Luxottica Group boss Adil Mehboob-Khan as its new CEO.
In an announcement today (1 February), Marco Capello, chairman of Liberty London and managing partner of BlueGem Capital Partners, said the appointment will help drive the company to the next level.
“Few, if any companies have Liberty London’s rich and storied heritage,” says Mehboob-Khan. “With its landmark central London store, unique fabrics business and exclusive Liberty London collection, this national icon has significant global potential.”
Mehboob-Khan previously served as president of German haircare company Wella and senior executive at consumer goods firm Procter & Gamble.
Founded in 1875, Liberty London is today known for its print, fabrics, and design. The Regent Street store encompasses six floors of fashion, beauty, accessories and homewares – bringing leading premium and luxury brands and housing them alongside the Liberty London collection.
