The appointment of Wang comes after Kingpins established a strategic partnership with Messe Frankfurt, a titan in the trade show arena in 2023.

Andrew Olah has been at the helm since Kingpins’ inception in 2004.

Under Olah’s leadership, Kingpins exceeded its origins as a modest New York event to become a hub for the international denim community.

Wang said: “Andrew’s vision has been the foundation of everything Kingpins stands for today. “He saw an opportunity to create something entirely new for the denim industry — a space where business, innovation and collaboration could thrive. It’s an honour to carry forward his legacy and build upon the incredible platform he created.”

The collaborative efforts of Olah and Wang have been pivotal in propelling Kingpins’ expansion into key global markets, including the Amsterdam show launch in 2014.

With over 90 trade shows and events under its belt, Kingpins has solidified its standing as the go-to venue for denim mills, manufacturers, suppliers, and other vital industry stakeholders.

Olah said: “From the start, I wanted Kingpins to be more than just a trade show. I envisioned a global platform where the denim community could gather to share ideas, tackle challenges and celebrate the artistry and innovation behind every pair of jeans. Seeing how far we’ve come — and knowing it’s in such capable hands with Vivian — gives me great confidence in the future of Kingpins.”

Wang’s tenure with Kingpins dates back to the company’s inception, where her contributions have been crucial from the very start.

She played a key role in designing the original logo and invitations and has since driven its global expansion. As managing director and head of global sales, Wang has been instrumental in establishing the Kingpins brand in key markets, helping it evolve into a respected, influential global entity.

Under her direction, Kingpins now orchestrates biannual events in New York and Amsterdam, an annual show in China, and various pop-up events worldwide.

The partnership with Messe Frankfurt promises to bolster Kingpins while maintaining its independence.

“Messe Frankfurt’s partnership strengthens Kingpins by providing us with access to its extensive resources and expertise. However, at its heart, Kingpins will always be the show that Andrew envisioned — a place for the denim industry to come together, collaborate and push boundaries,” Wang stated.
