The three-day Kingpins denim trade show held 23-25 May at the ADM MORE venue in Hangzhou blended over 40 B2B exhibitors with more than 20 B2C activations.

Unlike traditional large-scale events, Kingpins’ curated format offered an intimate atmosphere that it said resonated well with visitors such as Miss Sixty, Crystal Group, Bestseller and Levi Strauss representatives.

Highlights included the Kingpins Fashion Show spotlighting unique denim looks by Hong Kong Design Institute students in collaboration with Advance Denim and Bluesign. The Lycra Company also launched its new Lycra FitSense technology at the show.

The B2C area featured seminars from ACTAsia, live painters, claw machines and workshops like a natural dye session by Panther Denim and Tatfung Textile.

“This event marks a significant milestone,” said Vivian Wang, managing director of Kingpins Show. “The enthusiasm and participation we’ve seen reaffirm the importance of this market to our global strategy.”

Exhibitors praised the “buzzing atmosphere” and saw potential for future growth of Kingpins Denim China.

The Kingpins team is now turning its sights on the upcoming Kingpins New York show on 17-18 July, celebrating 20 years of the denim trade event.

US denim specialist Cone Denim debuted its alternative ColouRizd sustainable colour technology which claims to eliminate the need for dye baths and lengthy wet processing, at the April edition of the Kingpins Show in Amsterdam.
