Cos launched the Restore programme in 2022 and the project is led by Bleckmann‘s specialised unit of circular fashion experts, The Renewal Workshop.
Having successfully navigated a year-long pilot phase that has received positive feedback, the core of this operation entails a process for renewing garments that blend lower-impact cleaning methods, data-rich tracking capabilities and invisible mending expertise.
The team restores pre-loved Cos items to like-new conditions, which are subsequently offered at a discounted rate in its stores throughout Europe, including prominent cities such as Paris and Amsterdam.
Tamara Zwart, director of Renewal at Bleckmann said: “Working with Cos is a true partnership, built on our collective commitment to advancing circular fashion solutions.”
This innovative circular fashion venture aligns with the retailers “omni-circular” strategy, aimed at prolonging the lifespan of its products and curbing clothing waste.
The triumph of this initial phase has propelled the brand to extend the project beyond its experimental stage. Francesca Lilley, head of sustainability and brand strategy at Cos said: “The more we grow Cos Restore, the more economies of scale we can achieve, further enhancing our circular fashion offering.”

By GlobalDataIn pursuit of its ongoing commitment, Cos has recently introduced fresh Cos Restore collections in its Madrid and Vienna outlets. Plans are also underway to incorporate store-damaged items alongside products submitted by customers.
This includes Cos Resell, an online peer-to-peer commerce platform that allows users to buy and sell verified Cos items.
Lilley highlighted the broader implications, stating: “By including more markets and more renewal streams in the Cos Restore offering, we can extend the lifetime of many more garments.”
Since its establishment in 2015 and subsequent acquisition by Bleckmann in 2022, The Renewal Workshop said it is dedicated to helping fashion and lifestyle brands integrate more circular solutions into its existing business models.
Drawing on over five years of experience the team has collaborated with renowned brands such as The North Face, Carhartt, and New Balance.
Lilley concluded, “Bleckmann’s Renewal Workshop was the ideal partner to launch and grow the Cos Restore programme thanks to our shared values and their professionalism, agility and collaborative test-and-learn approach.”
