Archroma, G-Star RAW and Advance Denim have renewed their joint commitment to produce aniline-free denim apparel based on Archroma’s Denisol Pure Indigo 30 in a bid to move towards circularity.
The three companies explained they have shared a objective of delivering high-quality denim garments in authentic blue hues that are devoid of the aniline impurity that is typically found in conventional synthetic indigo production.
Archroma created Denisol Pure Indigo 30 to address the challenge of aniline, which is a byproduct retained in traditional denim manufacturing that pollutes waterways and oceans when discharged as wastewater.
Denisol Pure Indigo 30 is said to offer a 30% pre-reduced indigo solution that facilitates the production of aniline-free, indigo-dyed denim.
The solution is said to not only eliminate aniline from the denim production process but also reduce water consumption for preparation, washing, and wastewater treatment compared to conventional indigo grains.
It is also claimed to lower hazardous chemical consumption while allowing high reproducibility and preserving the iconic deep indigo shades synonymous with denim.
