Developed by ColouRizd LLC, this technology, part of Cone Denim’s Sustainable Collection, promises a wide array of colour dyeing and textures while minimising processing steps, thereby offering a more sustainable and efficient approach to textile colouration.
ColouRizd’s offering lies in its QuantumColour technology, which directly infuses pigments and a binder into yarn fibres. This process enhances yarn with vibrant colours and also creates visual texture, all while claiming to be environmentally friendly from “start to finish” in making responsible denim.

Compared to conventional reactive dyeing processes, ColouRizd technology is said to allow a 50% reduction in energy use, a 73% reduction in carbon footprint, and a 98% reduction in water usage during dyeing processes.
Additionally, it is bleach-safe and ensures “excellent shade matching and colour consistency.”

By GlobalDataEstablished in 2019, Cone Denim’s Community Collection of fabrics aims to raise awareness and provide support for causes that resonate with the values of the company.
The Rainforest Alliance focuses on addressing urgent environmental and social challenges, including deforestation and climate change, while also promoting sustainable livelihoods through initiatives spanning over 60 countries worldwide.
“Cone Denim is excited to launch this unique innovative colour technology,” said Cone Denim director of innovation Caitlyn Holt. “Not only is this a first for Cone, but it is new to the industry. This technology will allow us to have a quantifiable impact with unprecedented natural resource savings per yard produced.”
The Forest Conservation denim, the fifth instalment in Cone’s Community Collection, is crafted from Cone Denim selvedge and features fabrics in a distinct green shade to promote forest conservation awareness. A portion of the total sales from these fabrics will be donated to the Rainforest Alliance.
