Coats Footwear Vietnam is the consolidation of the company’s footwear activities in Vietnam. The launch of the division aims to drive focus and clarity and it will sit alongside Apparel and Performance Materials which was announced earlier this year.

This strategic move allows the company to provide specialised focus to each segment of its business, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction and service

Coats Group CEO, Rajiv Sharma said: “Coats Footwear Vietnam has been established as an integrated business that reflects our combined expertise in the footwear market. This includes the Coats footwear threads and the acquisitions of Texon and Rhenoflex.”

With the acquisitions of Texon and Rhenoflex in 2022, the manufacturer has solidified its position as a global market leader in footwear components, complementing its existing dominance in threads. The recent acquisitions have bolstered the company’s manufacturing footprint in the country, adding two structural components factories to its portfolio.

Coats has been operating in Vietnam since 1989, with two large thread factories located in Ho Chi Minh City and Hung Yen Province. By consolidating its footwear business, Coats aims to provide its customers with a unified point of contact for their thread and structural component needs, simplifying the procurement process and fostering stronger relationships.

These acquisitions align with the companies sustainability and innovation-focused strategy, as Texon and Rhenoflex prioritise these aspects in their operations.
