The new agreement with global brand development platform Authentic Brands Group will see Velocity taking responsibility for the design, manufacture, and distribution of the Quiksilver women’s clothing range in the US and Canada.

Quiksilver’s female fashion line will feature a blend of nature-inspired aesthetics with boardshorts, t-shirts, outerwear, woven tops, denim, knitwear, fleece and sweaters, swimwear, and casual wear.

The launch is scheduled for spring 2025 season at select retail outlets.

Authentic Action & Outdoor Sports, Lifestyle EVP David Brooks said: “Velocity has proven time and again its talent for translating brand vision into standout products.

“We’re eager to work together to drive growth and meet our increasing consumer demand for the Quiksilver brand.”

Velocity Global Brands Co-CEO Chris Laurita added: “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Authentic to bring the Quiksilver women’s line back to life.

“Through this launch, we will honour Quiksilver’s rich legacy while looking ahead. We will blend surf culture with refined sophistication, bringing the best of the past and future together.”

In February 2016, Quiksilver’s US subsidiaries successfully completed Chapter 11 reorganisation and initiated a comprehensive turnaround strategy.

After undergoing bankruptcy restructuring, the action sports apparel company announced its rebranding to Boardriders in 2017, marking a significant step in its ongoing recovery efforts.

Based in Huntington Beach, California, Quiksilver also confirmed it will retain and continue to operate its Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC Shoes brands.

In April 2023, Authentic signed a definitive agreement to purchase Boardriders, which operated as a global enterprise with a broad presence across the Americas, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

At that time, Boardriders generated $2.9bn in annual retail sales through a wide-reaching distribution network, which included over 500 owned retail stores, 7,000 wholesale accounts, and e-commerce operations across 35 countries.

According to media reports, the acquisition of Boardriders was worth approximately $1.25bn and closed in September 2023.

In November 2023, Authentic forged a deal with lifestyle brand collective Centric Brands, which was focused on Quiksilver’s children’s fashion.
