As part of its long-standing partnership with sustainability group Parley for the Oceans, German sportswear giant Adidas has unveiled a shoe from its Originals range made with Parley Ocean Plastic.
Launched in Brazil to raise awareness about ocean pollution, the new EQT Support ADV Parley comes in two colourways and is partially made with plastic waste removed from beaches and coastal communities, intercepted before reaching the ocean.
Adidas first partnered with Parley for the Oceans in April 2015. With the goal of developing and supporting new technologies to up-cycle ocean plastic debris, the pair have worked on turning ocean plastic into technical yarn fibres that can be used for performance products.
Most recently, the sportswear company unveiled a Parley version of its fastest running shoe, the Adizero Prime Parley, with a Primeknit upper made of 95% Parley Ocean Plastic.
