The collaboration aims to implement advanced tools and AI-driven solutions to revolutionise the textile recycling system.
Accelerating Circularity founder Karla Magruder said: “This partnership represents a transformative step in accelerating the transition to a fully circular textile system. By working with Dhana, we can harness cutting-edge technology to create scalable solutions that enable industry stakeholders to implement circular strategies effectively.”
Dhana, a Certified B Corporation, is contributing its AI proficiency and the integration of complex data sets to this joint effort.
Leveraging the success of its AI-infused fashion platform, D/Sphere, Dhana is actively participating in the creation of a new application designed to operationalise circularity within the industry.
The anticipated application, slated for release in 2025, is expected to empower industry participants including brands, manufacturers, resellers, sorters, and recyclers to make informed and sustainable choices that contribute to a more sustainable and circular fashion ecosystem.
Dhana founder and CEO Shamini Dhana said: “Our mission has always been to drive innovation at the intersection of sustainability, fashion, and technology.
“By collaborating with ACP, we are developing the next generation of digital tools that will make circularity more accessible and scalable across the textile value chain.”
Accelerating Circularity helps new circular supply chains and business models to transform used textiles into mainstream raw materials. In a LinkedIn post, Accelerating Circularity said it has united with WWF and BSR in a collaborative effort with initial funding provided by the Laudes Foundation to launch an innovative venture: Mapping Second-Hand Material Flows.
The objective of this initiative is to develop fair and enduring frameworks for the trade of used clothing and the worldwide recycling sector, grounded in a comprehensive grasp of regional environmental, social, and economic dynamics.
