The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.46% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.7% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.67% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.92% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s apparel industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Amazon posted 1,293 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 12.34% over the previous month, followed by Walmart with 327 jobs and a 4.81% growth. Dollar Tree with 96 IT jobs and NIKE with 65 jobs, recorded a 57.52% decline and an 8.45% decrease, respectively, while eBay recorded an increase of 16.67% with 49 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.6%, down by 13.93% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 28.31% share, registered a decline of 19.35% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 21.81% share, down 8.38% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.29%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
