IT jobs accounted for a 10.47% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 1.24% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 64.29% in October 2022, a 43.04% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.43% in October 2022, marking a 200% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.43% in October 2022, a 60% rise from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 22.22% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s apparel industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Amazon posted 45 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 26.23% over the previous month, followed by CCC with 16 jobs and a 33.33% drop. adidas with 5 IT jobs and Chalhoub Group with 2 jobs, recorded a 66.67% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Carrefour recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2022.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 54.29% share in October 2022, a 24% decrease over September 2022. Colombia featured next with a 32.86% share, down 23.33% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 7.14% share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.14%, down by 14.29% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 14.29% share, registered a decline of 28.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.57% share, down 53.85% over September 2022.
