IT jobs accounted for a 2.53% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 2.48% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 60.31% in November 2022, a 70.93% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 15.58% in November 2022, marking an 18.71% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.87% in November 2022, a 47.28% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 62.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s apparel industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Walmart posted 308 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 6.38% over the previous month, followed by Amazon with 270 jobs and an 80.84% drop. Publix Super Markets with 40 IT jobs and BPS Direct with 33 jobs, recorded a 60% rise and a 32% rise, respectively, while Target recorded a flat growth with 32 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s apparel industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 94.84% share in November 2022, a 60.65% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.91% share, down 85.71% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.91% share, a drop of 39.29% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.23%, down by 62.23% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.91% share, registered a decline of 61.15% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 20.85% share, down 63.1% over October 2022.
