IT jobs accounted for a 13.9% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 2.58% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 50% in November 2022, a 73.91% drop over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in November 2022, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16.67% in November 2022, a 77.78% drop from October 2022.

Amazon posted 4 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 77.78% over the previous month, followed by Pick n Pay Stores with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Mr. Price Group with 2 IT jobs and Inter IKEA Holding with 1 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 75% drop, respectively, while Farfetch recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s apparel industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s apparel industry IT hiring activity with a 66.67% share in November 2022, a 33.33% decrease over October 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 16.67% share, down 33.33% over the previous month. Israel recorded an 8.33% share, a drop of 94.44% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.33%, down by 68.18% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 25% share, registered a decline of 62.5% compared with the previous month.
