Germany’s apparel industry registered a 12.4% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.06% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.75% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1.8% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s apparel industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.97% in August 2022, registering a 19.4% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 11.64% share, a decrease of 29.17% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.53%, registering an 8.33% decline from July 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.85%, down 65.52% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s apparel industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

REWE Group posted 42 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 35.48% over the previous month, followed by Schwarz Unternehmenskommunikation GmbHKG with 30 jobs and a 14.29% drop. Zalando with 23 IT jobs and Amazon with 16 jobs, recorded a 14.81% decline and an 81.61% decrease, respectively, while Esprit Holdings recorded an increase of 150% with 10 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.34%, down by 20.29% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.7% share, registered a decline of 44.44% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.96% share, down 42.86% over July 2022.
