After a few false starts the European Union (EU) has finally approved its Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the latest issue of Just Style’s digital magazine asks the experts to explain how and why both large and small fashion companies must prepare now for what’s to come under these EU rules.

Read it for free online on all devices.

The EU has also approved a forced labour goods ban from 2027, a right to repair directive and a revised Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR).

All of this is going to have a massive ripple effect throughout the entire global fashion supply chain, and it will be the task of the newly elected European parliament to put it all into action.

Gherzi Textile Organization partner Robert P. Antoshak discusses the tightrope that exists between profit and sustainability and whether it’s become outdated.

Plus, we dive into the hidden functionalities of PLM cloud-based software systems that could make fashion brands and suppliers’ lives easier.

Supplement: ESG in apparel

We also have an entire supplement dedicated to ESG in this issue, where we investigate the latest driving forces in ESG, what apparel companies need to know about the shift to mandatory ESG reporting, and key net-zero strategies.

In an exclusive interview senior vice president of the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) programme shares his take on the impact of the EU’s ESG legislation for fashion companies based in the US.

We also find out whether leading fashion brands are making any headway on their own environmental and social responsibility goals and whether they’ll be ready for what’s around the corner.

Plus we explore a wide spectrum of environmental, social responsibility and corporate governance issues through analyst comment and in-depth analysis.

Read the latest issue of Just Style Magazine for all this and more insights, analysis, data and interviews from the apparel industry.
