BRIEFING: The ground rules for sourcing after 2005

In early 2003, we published “Apparel Sourcing In The 21st Century: The 10 Lessons So Far.” We believe the forecasts we made in that review were pretty accurate. But the world has moved on since then, and there are some new lessons to be learned. The central lesson, we argued in 2003, was that quotas were going to disappear at the end of 2004, however many observers convinced themselves otherwise. A year later, that prediction stands.
