Turkish garment manufacturer Yesim says it has become the largest ready-to-wear apparel exporter in Egypt for the third consecutive year.
Yesim added its third factory in Egypt, the Ismailia factory, in 2019. It was already producing from manufacturing plants in Alexandria and Cairo under its Jade Textile subsidiary.
Its Egypt operation predominantly supplies the US market with sports garments.
“Achieving a significant growth curve in the region with this recent investment, Jade Textile has succeeded to become the largest ready-to-wear apparel exporter in Egypt for the third consecutive year,” the company said in an announcement, citing data from Apparel Export Council.
“This success, achieved after a challenging year has demonstrated once more the power of Turkish companies abroad,” said Yesim Group co-CEO Selim Sankaya.
“Egypt is a strategic investment for us. The free trade agreement signed between Egypt and the US is a particularly important agreement allowing us to sell duty-free goods. Egypt has strategically positioned the ready-to-wear sector as a privileged industry for its growth goals until 2030.”
