Woolrich International has named former VF Corp executive Stefano Saccone as its new CEO.

Saccone takes over from Paolo Corinaldesi who over the last three years led the company in consolidating its European and US operations and in establishing the new Woolrich International holding company, owned by Luxembourg fund L-Gam and Japanese outdoor group Goldwin

Saccone has acquired marketing, sales and management experience in the world of branded apparel, footwear and accessories, with positions of increasing responsibility at Zegna, P&G, Ralph Lauren, and Nike. In 2012 he joined VF Corporation where he held various positions including vice president sales and marketing of Napapijri EMEA, vice president/general manager of Eastpak and, more recently, vice president/general manager of Vans EMEA.

In his new role, Saccone will lead the company in its “ambitious” growth plan, focused on developing markets, such as North America, Asia, England and France, and on consolidating and expanding the DTC channel, with particular focus on e-commerce and omnichannel integration. He will begin his role of group CEO during the summer.

“It is a privilege to join Woolrich at this exciting time and I look forward to building on the outstanding work of Cristina Calori and Andrea Canè to further grow the brand and business. I have long been an admirer of Woolrich and its unique position in the marketplace, and believe the brand, backed today by L-GAM, has only begun to express its potential,” Saccone said.
