The Woolmark Company is halving the annual licence fee for its Woolmark Certification Program, in a move aimed at helping supply chain partners gain access to the quality scheme.
The 50% reduction in the annual licence fee will allow more processors and manufacturers of high quality wool products – including wool apparel, wool yarn and fabric – to use the Woolmark symbol to build and strengthen supply chain integrity and consumer confidence, The Woolmark Company says.
It adds that a recent Nielsen survey found 85% of participants agreed the Woolmark symbol ensures quality and 68% believed clothes with the Woolmark symbol are worth paying more for.
The reduced annual licence fee is available to all new and existing Woolmark licensees until June 2021. The application fee is also waived for new licensees who pay for their own product testing using an Authorised Laboratory.
“The revised programme will allow licensees to navigate industry, consumer and economic challenges in the current climate and promote their wool and wool-rich products to our extensive global network,” explains The Woolmark Company managing director Stuart McCullough.
The temporary fee relief coincides with the launch of the ‘Meaning Behind The Mark film’ – which is available for licensees to use and shines a spotlight on the five-step process products go through to earn the Woolmark certification.
