The agenda for the 34th IAF World Fashion Convention has been confirmed, with 21 speakers having already committed to the event and panel discussions ranging from how blockchain will enable transparency to how better buyer-supplier collaboration is achieved.
Co-organised by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and MODINT, the Dutch fashion and textiles industry association, the two-day conference will be held on 9-10 October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Maastricht in the Netherlands, addressing the theme ‘Building a Smart Future for Fashion.’
Among the speakers confirmed are C&A Foundation’s head of circular, Douwe Jan Joustra, who will share the Foundation’s far reaching vision and actions on circular fashion; Brigitte Stepputtis, head of couture of Vivienne Westwood; Heinz Zeller of Hugo Boss; and Scott Deitz, responsible for public affairs at VF Corp, whose brands include Lee, Wrangler, The North Face, Timberland and Vans.
In addition, the list also includes representatives from major industry experts such as McKinsey, Alvanon, and the Influencer Marketing Agency.
Spread over two days, the speakers will provide a comprehensive vision for the future of the fashion industry with keynote speeches and panel sessions focused on, among other subjects, how blockchain will enable transparency, how circular fashion requires systemic changes, how better buyer-supplier collaboration is achieved, the major current and future sourcing trends, and new fabric innovations.
In addition, more than 200 guests are expected to attend a dinner at Château St. Gerlach following the first conference day.
