Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) held the Best of Bangladesh in Europe event on 17 to 18 April. It attracted 1,500 visitors, which included fashion buyers, investors, and various stakeholders from across Europe.

Best of Bangladesh in Europe 2025 featured 32 exhibitors from eight critical industries such as apparel, leather, jute, handicrafts, IT, agro-food, poultry, and seed, providing a platform for Bangladeshi enterprises to forge connections with global counterparts.

The exhibitors included Delmas Apparels, Knit Asia, Shin Shin Apparels, Simco Spinning & Textiles, Noize Jeans, PDS Limited, Paddock’s Jeans, Pacific Knit Division, Aus Bangla Jutex.

The inaugural day featured two panel discussions centred on “Bangladesh: Overarching Economic Growth and Investment Opportunities” and “Bangladesh into Future: A Global Sourcing Hub.”

Additional segments included a country presentation on Bangladesh by City Bank, along with a fireside chat addressing “Opportunities for Action – Driving a Just Transition in Bangladesh” by Laudes Foundation and insights into the Bangladesh Poultry Industry.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority executive chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun said: “Everything is not perfect in Bangladesh but there is a positive thing also. We can draw an ambition and vision for Bangladesh and try to solve many problems that we can. We can prioritise the key challenges for trade investments. We have already taken initiatives towards the ambition. One is “Green channel’ which is a trade that facilitates faster processes for businesses. And another one is the “One-stop service” which is a classic business model for trade investment. And also, our ambition is to make Bangladesh is a global manufacturing hub. We have skilled young people, geographical locations for business.”

The event was supported by PDS Limited in collaboration with City Bank and KDS Group and it was backed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida).

European External Action Service South Asia Division head Charles Whiteley stated: “Bangladesh has a remarkable progress over the years. Readymade Garment sector is a real powerhouse for the economy in Bangladesh. EU is the largest partner of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has all the ingredients to diversify its export those ingredients include skilled workforce, young people, competitive wages, innovations, improving infrastructures, digitalisation, its location bey of Bengal. EU will remain supports Bangladesh; to reform Bangladesh, we have been a long-standing partner on labour rights through the national action plan in labour sectors Bangladesh.”
